Sharapova reaches Indian Wells fourth round
INDIAN WELLS, California: Second-seeded Russian Maria Sharapova secured her fourth-round berth at the Indian Wells ATP Masters and WTA tournament on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Carla Suarez Navarro.
Sharapova, whose French Open triumph last year gave her a career Grand Slam, wasn't at her best against the Spaniard ranked 21st in the world, but she battled through to book a clash with either 14th-seeded Italy Roberta Vinci or Spain's Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino. -AFP
