Jazeman finally drives an F1 car

PETALING JAYA: Jazeman Jaafar kicked off the final countdown to the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix as he drove a Formula One car for the first time in the Petronas Motorsports Demo Run in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Held in conjunction with the 15th edition of the race at the Sepang Circuit this weekend, the demo run was designed to bring the fast-paced world of Formula One and motorsports, both four-wheels and two-wheels, to the streets for the public to experience.
The 21-year old was taking a break from preparations for his first season in the Formula Renault 3.5 World Series to take the honour of driving the Mercedes-AMG-Petronas F1 car through the streets of Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Ampang near KLCC.
Jazeman, who did five laps yesterday, had not driven an F1 car before and only did some practice sessions on the Mercedes-AMG-Petronas simulator.
Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, who finished a creditable fourth as a wildcard in the Moto2 in last year’s Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, also displayed his daring skills on board his Moto2 replica bike with other riders under the Petronas sponsorship programme.
