American Bowen aims to continue winning run in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: James Bowen of the United States is aiming for a Malaysian double when he headlines the PGM Northport Glenmarie Masters from March 6-9.
Bowen missed the grade at the Asian Tour Qualifying School in January but made amends when he won his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) event at the PGM Sime Darby Harvard Classic last month.
With the new-found confidence, the American plans to continue his winning run at the RM200,000 Northport Glenmarie Masters at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club.
“That was my first professional win since turning pro in 2008. I have a chance to play my way into the Asian Tour again and I’m looking forward to more wins on the ADT,” said Bowen.
Brian Locke of the United States and Ryan Bulloch of Australia, both ADT winners, are also in the field next week along with hopefuls George Gandranata of Indonesia, Timothy Tang of Hong Kong and Koh Dengshan of Singapore.
S. Siva Chandhran, winner of the inaugural ADT Order of Merit, Shaaban Hussin, Jeremiah Kim and Wilson Choo are expected to lead the Malaysian charge.
