Two policemen killed in blast in India's Chhattisgarh

NEW DELHI: At least two policemen were killed and four others wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, reported Xinhua quoting police on Thursday (July 18).

The IED, detonated by Naxals on Wednesday night, occurred in the Tarrem area of Bijapur district, approximately 452 km south of Raipur, the state capital.

Following the attack, authorities rushed reinforcements to the area to bring the bodies and evacuate the wounded.

Currently, Naxals are active across the central and eastern parts of India.
