BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Personnel from the Temburong Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle contraband on Wednesday (Sept 25) afternoon.

Three male suspects, in two separate vehicles, were apprehended near the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge, heading towards the Brunei-Muara District.

The contraband seized included 25 bottles and 43 cartons of alcohol, along with 100 cartons of cigarettes, believed to have been smuggled from a neighbouring country.

The case has been handed over to Bangar Police Station before being referred to the Royal Customs and Excise Department, as well as the Religious Enforcement Division of the Temburong District, for further investigation.

The RBPF reminded the public to refrain from engaging in any criminal activities that could harm the country. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
