TNB to gain from Project 3B

PETALING JAYA: A research house believed that Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) would be given revised terms for the construction of the 2,000MW coal-fired power plant which it had reportedly taken over from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

CIMB Research said the original tariff for Project 3B suited 1MDB’s capital costs, but not TNB, which according to CIMB’s estimate implied an internal rate of return of 6%.
