PETALING JAYA: The household debt level in the country still needs to be monitored closely as it could pose risks despite a steady decline after hitting its peak in 2015.
The household debt-to-gross domestic product (GDP) ratio has fallen from 88.4% in 2015 to 83% last year, but economists said it is still on the elevated side compared to regionally and could pose risks.
