Shell Malaysia to cut 250 to 300 upstream jobs over two years


Lo emphasised that Shell Malaysia intends to grow its downstream marketing businesses to reinforce its retail and lubricants leadership positions in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Malaysia plans to reduce the workforce in its upstream business by between 250 and 300 workers over two years as the global group implements measures to thrive through the energy transition and become a simpler organisation.

In a statement posted on its website, Shell Malaysia said this is part of the global reshaping of Shell as the energy giant focuses on improving efficiency to become a more streamlined, competitive and collaborative organisation in today’s challenging landscape.
