KUALA LUMPUR: AME Elite Consortium Bhd via its subsidiary, Ipark Development Sdn Bhd, will construct a RM108mil new manufacturing facility in i-Park@Senai Airport City, Johor for Emhart Glass Sdn Bhd (Bucher Emhart Glass).
In a statement, the integrated industrial space solutions provider said the facility would have a built-up area of 300,000 sq ft, which would replace the existing factory at another site in Johor Baru to increase production capacity.
The construction of the project will commence in the second quarter of 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
AME Elite group managing director Kelvin Lee Chai said: “We warmly welcome Bucher Emhart Glass to i-Park@Senai Airport City as it expands its operations in Malaysia. We are proud to be chosen as Bucher Emhart Glass’ solutions provider, proving AME’s expertise to support the growth requirements of global businesses.”
“AME continues its role as a foreign direct investment magnet and will benefit from increased demand for our industrial parks as international borders reopen. With this latest contract from Bucher Emhart Glass, our new sales for the financial year to date increased to RM433mil and will enhance our financial performance,” he said.
For its second quarter ended Sept 30, 2022, AME’s net profit rose to RM45.81mil from RM9.76mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue in the second quarter improved to RM147.47mil from RM86.33mil previously.
In a statement on its second quarter earnings, AME said it expects continued pressure from the rising costs of building materials, given the supply chain disruption and labour shortage.
