Kerjaya Prospek bags RM105mil building contract

PETALING JAYA: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd has received a letter of award (LoA) worth RM104.73mil from Persada Mentari Sdn Bhd for the construction of a residential development in Penang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Kerjaya Prospek said the LoA was accepted by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd, and would entail the completion of 69 units of three-storey semi-detached and three-storey terraced houses at Seksyen 2, Pulau Andaman.

“The contract will commence on Dec 1, 2023 and be completed within 26 months from the commencement date,” the company said, adding that the contract is expected to provide an additional stream of revenue over the next two years.

With the new contract, Kerjaya Prospek chief executive officer and executive director Tee Eng Tiong said the group’s year-to-date contract replenishment had reached RM1.6bil, bringing the total outstanding order book to RM4.8bil.

“Although we have exceeded our targeted wins of RM1.2bil for 2023, we will nevertheless persevere to seek more projects to enhance the order book further, keeping it sustainable for the coming years.

“We are humbled that the continuous inflow of contracts, particularly from companies which we have cooperated with before, is a huge testament of the top-notch work quality and services which we strive to provide to all our clients.”

Leveraging on the group’s extensive track record and expertise of over three decades, Teo said he was cautiously optimistic that the group was in a good position to capitalise on the opportunities present, on the back of the construction sector’s growth, going forward.

“This is as we continue to reinforce and solidify our position as one of the leading construction players in Malaysia,” he said.
