A painstaking effort

IN the last seven years, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Iseas) librarian Ch’ng Kim See made over 20 visits to Malaysia. The trips bore fruit when 148 boxes of documents belonging to the late Tun H.S. Lee were finally delivered to Singapore by professional movers on Jan 23 this year.

Ch’ng, who acted as consultant cum advisor to the project, says on arrival at Iseas, the papers were first fumigated and sealed in a giant bubble.
