Australian singer-actor Jang Han-byul is set to make Legoland Malaysia Resort’s Splash Carnival, which returns to its water park throughout this month until Aug 4, even more exciting.

Currently based in Malaysia, the Lecturerku Oppa actor is scheduled to perform for one night only during the carnival.

For five weeks, Legoland Water Park visitors will be treated to various fun activities that include exciting water games and lively entertainment.

“This year, we’ve crafted a wave of exciting experiences designed to create lasting memories for families and friends. From exhilarating water sports adventures to captivating live performances from Han-byul, Splash Carnival offers something for everyone to enjoy,” CS Lim, divisional director of Legoland Malaysia Resort, said in a statement.

Among the fun activities at Splash Carnival are Build And Race (visitors get to build their own Lego boat and race it), Strike A Pose (visitors must balance and pose for a photo on a giant inflatable banana boat), Sandbox Fun (sandcastle building activity), Beach Ball Hunt (search for hidden Lego beach balls throughout the park to redeem them for prizes) and Beachside Battles (water volleyball or beach soccer).

Han Byul, who won 2020 MeleTOP Era Awards’ Best New Artist and charmed fans with his voice on The Masked Singer Malaysia Season 3, will be performing during a star-studded show on July 13.

Travellers’ choices

Meanwhile, the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre (RSVC), Petronas Twin Towers and MinNature Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur are all included in TripAdvisor’s 2024 Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best Of The Best Things To Do list.

RSVC is #6 on the list, ahead of Vietnam’s Hoi An Ancient Town, and just below Japan’s Fushimi Inara Taisha shrine in Kyoto.

The Petronas Twin Towers is #12 on the list, while MinNature Malaysia (located in Sungei Wang Plaza) is #23.

At the RSVC, visitors can enjoy a free museum tour showcasing the fascinating history of pewtersmithing in Malaysia through interactive demonstration stations, galleries and life-sized exhibits. Self-guided tours are also available.

This year, the RSVC celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since its establishment in 2004, the visitor centre has welcomed more than 4.1 million visitors from all over the world.

Working together

In other news, AirAsia and Sabah Tourism Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this week to boost the state’s tourism sector for the next five years.

With the partnership, air connectivity between Sabah and ASEAN countries, north Asia, and Oceania will be enhanced between now and 2028.

AirAsia aims to enhance overall connectivity in Sabah by potentially launching 14 new domestic and international routes. These will include the Kota Kinabalu-Bandar Sri Begawan (Brunei), Kota Kinabalu-Perth (Australia), Tawau-Guangzhou (China), Sandakan-Hong Kong routes.

These will be subject to market review and evaluation over the course of the coming months to assess demand for each route, regulatory approvals and other favourable market factors and conditions.

On July 1, AirAsia X announced that it will start offering a new route to Nairobi from KL in November, marking the company’s first entry into the African continent.
