THOSE wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle can head to the newly opened Wellness Hub at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) for tips and activities.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said there were 31 such facilities in the country but the one at HSA was the first of its kind set up at a government hospital.
“The hub serves as a one-stop centre as the ministry encourages people to become more aware about their own health.
“Such facilities are not just open to the sick but also to those who want to maintain and improve their overall well-being.
“We want to move from ‘sick care’ to health care and combat health risks through a series of services including physical activities, weight management programmes, anti-smoking activities, mental health therapy and prescribed exercises,” she said.
Dr Zaliha added that the ministry’s Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat (Healthy Malaysia National Agenda) was aimed at cultivating a healthy lifestyle and promoting environmental sustainability to support the people’s well-being.
Other services at the hub include health risk assessment, fitness test, lung screening, consultation as well as indoor and outdoor gyms.
The HSA Wellness Hub is open from Sunday to Thursday.
