IN a bid to help the community prosper, Petron Malaysia initiated a series of activities.
With sponsorship of more than RM1mil, the company hoped to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged.
Petron Malaysia retail service station dealers continued their annual tradition since 2016, distributing bubur lambuk to the community.
This year, 140 retail service stations dealers contributed to this initiative.
Some 50 retail service station dealers and 30 employees distributed 5,000 bubur lambuk packets at Masjid Jamek in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
The activity continued at night as orphans and others from the asnaf group were invited to a dinner.
The event saw dealers also sponsoring tools of trade to help three entrepreneurs with disabilities to work better.
A carpenter with eyesight problems was presented with a laser cutter machine while a food service provider with physical disability was given multipurpose cookers for his food business.
The third entrepreneur received a retort machine, which is a type of food processing equipment.
Petron Malaysia also raised more than RM900,000 in its donation drive to aid earthquake victims in southern Türkiye.
The proceeds were handed over to Turkish Ambassador to Malaysia Emir Salim Yuksel.
The company also sponsored Petron Gasul for more than 200 bazaar traders at the Desa Pandan Ramadan Bazaar in Kuala Lumpur.
Each trader received three Petron Gasul cylinders, banners and bunting for their bazaar spaces.
This was part of the company’s mission to ensure traders could focus on achieving their business potential with fewer financial worries.
The company also distributed more than 300 bubur lambuk packs to the public at the bazaar.
