THE Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sibu Branch received an ambulance from Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).

MRCS Sibu chairman Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee said it had one ambulance that was quite old.

“With this one from LDS and another one we will receive soon, we will have a total of three ambulances.”

Chua said this could help ease the burden on Hospital Sibu’s ambulance service.

MRCS Sibu vice-chairman Dr Rachel Teng, who is also Hospital Sibu deputy director, said the donation would help in transporting accident victims to the hospital.

LDS volunteer Sandy Hall said this was the second ambulance they have donated.

The church, he said was also helping Hospital Sibu improve its infrastructure.

Present to receive the ambulance was MRCS Sibu advisor Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau.
