SIME Darby Property Bhd (SDP) is welcoming the Year of the Dragon with an array of vibrant and culturally rich activities at various Chinese New Year open house events nationwide.
The festivities start at Serenia City Sales Gallery and Bandar Ainsdale Sales Gallery on Feb 17.
At Serenia City in Sepang, Selangor, guests can expect daring acts from an acrobatic lion dance troupe and dragon dance performances.
There will also be a special guzheng (zither) and violin duo performance as well as mask-changing Chinese opera show.
Other activities include giant bubble, carnival games, Chinese calligraphy, lou sang session and a bazaar.
The CNY open house is from 10am to 5pm.
Guests at the Bandar Ainsdale open house in Seremban, Negri Sembilan where activities will take place from 10am to 3pm, should come in their best CNY outfit to stand a chance to win a ‘Best Dressed’ Award.
There will also be a 24-drum performance, dragon felt-making and CNY ring ornament workshops, as well as juggling and comedy shows.
On Feb 24, Sime Darby Property will host open houses at five locations – The Glades Plaza, KL East Sales Gallery, Elmina Pavilion Sales Gallery and Ara Damansara Sales Gallery.
The Bandar Universiti Pagoh Sales Gallery in Johor will play host to CNY activities in the southern state.
At The Glades Plaza in Putra Heights, Selangor, there will be face painting and drum performances as well as an appearance by the God of Prosperity.
There will also be palm reading, CNY caricature and calligraphy and sugar painting workshops from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors at the CNY open house at the Ara Damansara Sales Gallery will have the opportunity to witness a Chinese calligraphy demonstration firsthand.

Other activities to look forward at the open houses are Chinese orchestra performance and clay doll workshop, from 11am.
Be sure to watch out for a dragon dance with LED lights at the Bandar Universiti Pagoh Sales Gallery.
The celebrations will culminate on Feb 25 at the Bandar Bukit Raja Town Park in Klang and Subang Jaya City Centre (SJCC) Sales Gallery.
SDP is also offering Dragon Deals until Feb 29 to welcome the new year with a new home from selected landed home and high-rise products.
