Malaysian 2024 Olympics gold medallists to receive RM1mil

Ameen says redONE’s RM1mil contribution is a way to honour exceptional athletes and showcase unwavering support for the spirit of sportsmanship and national pride.

Malaysian athletes who win an Olympic gold in Paris, France, will receive RM1mil from a mobile virtual network operator.

The special payout from redONE Mobile (redONE) will be disbursed in monthly instalments over a period of 10 years to ensure long-term support for the athlete.

Furthermore, the gold medal winner will have the honour of becoming redONE’s ambassador for four years until the next Olympics.

In the event of multiple gold winners, the prize will be shared among them.

redONE chief executive officer Ameen Amaendran said, “As a company championing sports development in Malaysia, we see this RM1mil contribution as a way to honour our exceptional athletes and show our unwavering support for the spirit of sportsmanship and national pride. We believe sports inspires unity.

“Our goal is to celebrate achievements of current athletes and pave the way for future ones to reach their full potential.

“I urge other corporations to come together to uplift our athletes to inspire a new generation of champions.”

redONE had previous partnerships with Selangor Football Club (FC), Terengganu FC and Sabah FC.

It currently supports PDRM FC and Imigresen FC as well as the KL Fencing, Selangor Squash, and Purple League Badminton tournaments.
