KUALA LUMPUR: The maintenance of the tsunami buoy at Pulau Sipadan has been halted due to a fatal accident involving the leader of the project team.
In a statement Friday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department announced that the accident occurred Thursday while team leader Stig Erik Lyng and other members were in the process of servicing the buoy aboard the ship MV Pendamar.
