CCID director retires with fond memories

KUALA LUMPUR: Comm Datuk Syed Ismail Syed Azizan (pic) was all ready to abide by his parents’ wishes and not become a policeman. But he followed his dream and, after 36 years, is retiring as Commercial Crime Investigation (CCID) director.

“I joined the force late, at the age of 24 as my parents did not agree with me becoming a policeman when I turned 21. But I did it anyway because it was my ‘calling’,” he said at his office recently.
