Mobile clinic makes a visit to the interiors of Sarawak
JULAU: Residents of Rumah Anthony Bau, Nanga Sugai, Rantau Tapang, Mujok near here were given health checks via a three-day mobile clinic.
The event was organised by UMW Corporation Sdn Bhd (UMW) with the cooperation of the Malaysian Medical Aid Association or Mercy Malaysia.
“This area is in the interiors, which makes it difficult for residents to go for health checks. So, we brought the facility to them,” said head of the mission Martin Jandom, adding that the nearest clinic for residents was the Maong Helah Clinic, which is about an hour away by boat.
He said the mission involved 41 members, including 18 medical volunteers, comprising doctors, dentists and pharmacists, and also media practitioners.
About 90 people from the nearby longhouses came to seek treatment.
