KOTA KINABALU: Former chief minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee is seeking a court declaration that the appointment of Sabah Water Department director Amarjit Singh eight months ago was unlawful and that it contravened the Sabah Water Supply Enactment 2003.

In the suit filed at the Kota Kinabalu High Court Registry on Tuesday, Yong and Tawau businessman Pang Thou Chung are also seeking a declaration that Section 3 of the Enactment spells out that only members of the public service are qualified for senior posts.
