SUNGAI BULOH: The dead man found stuffed in a suitcase by the side of the North-South Expressway was murdered over 12 hours before being dumped.
Acting Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk S. Sasikala Devi said the post-mortem showed the victim was killed more than 12 hours before his body was hacked up and dumped.
"So far, we believe the victim was a foreigner as there is no sign of a Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG) jab on his arm.
"We still cannot ascertain the victim's identity," she told a press conference at the Sungai Buloh police headquarters on Thursday (Jan 19).
She urged those missing a family member to come forward as soon as possible.
Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Shafa'aton Abu Bakar said on Wednesday (Jan 18) that the cause of death had been identified as multiple blunt force and sharp object-related injuries.
"We have also taken a statement from the man who alerted the police to the gruesome discovery," she said.
A human torso and other body parts had been found along the NSE on Tuesday (Jan 17) morning by a man who immediately called the police.
Supt Shafa'aton said they found a torso as well as a suitcase at the scene along KM447 of the NSE near the Rawang Selatan exit.
The partial body (from waist to neck) was found at the scene while the head, legs and arms were found inside the suitcase.
