Umno polls: 'Azwanbro' wants to make Pasir Salak great again

IPOH: Pasir Salak Umno acting division chief Khairul Azwan Harun intends to vie for a supreme council seat in the upcoming party elections.

"With my experience as former Umno Youth vice president, I want to continue to contribute my energy and knowledge to the party (as division chief and supreme council member)," said Khairul Azwan, who is fondly known as Azwanbro, in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 28).

He said he has a clear vision to make Pasir Salak great again together with his team.

"We have a list of people to nominate in the upcoming party polls for the Pasir Salak division.

"Ramelle Ashram Ramli is set to contest for division deputy chief and Datuk Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin for division Wanita chief," he said.

On Monday (Feb 27), it was reported that former Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman's son Dr Faizal Tajuddin is set to go up against Khairul Azwan for division chief.

Ramelle Ashram is the son of former Perak mentri besar Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib while Dr Wan Norashikin is a former Perak exco member and former Kampong Gajah assemblyman.

In GE15, Khairul Azwan lost to PAS' Jamaluddin Yahya in the Pasir Salak parliamentary seat by a margin of 5,003 votes.

Dr Wan Norashikin lost to Zafarulazhan Zan, also of PAS, in the Kampong Gajah state seat.
