A stolen kiss lands fan in hot water

SEREMBAN: Police have arrested a man for allegedly outraging the modesty of a 26-year-old artiste here.

Nilai OCPD Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the suspect has been remanded until tomorrow.

“The female victim lodged a report on June 25 alleging that she was resting in a VVIP room behind a stage at Dataran Nilai after a performance when the suspect walked up to her to ask permission for a selfie, to which she agreed.

“However, after having the selfie taken, the suspect allegedly pulled and pressed her hand and then kissed it,” he said.

Supt Abdul Malik said this startled the victim and she screamed.

The suspect tried to escape but was caught by the organisers and handed over to the police.

The case is being probed under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using force with intent to outrage a person’s modesty.
