Hadi admitted to hospital, son asks well-wishers to pray for his health

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has been admitted to hospital and is undergoing treatment due to poor health, said his son Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi.

"My father's health slightly worsened before Hari Raya Aidiladha and he is being monitored in the hospital," Muhammad Khalil in a Facebook post Saturday (July 1).

"He was not in the best of health during the launch of the PAS Youth election machinery a few days ago, but was determined to be there," he said.

Meanwhile, an aide said Abdul Hadi's condition has been stabilised for now after a sudden bout of infection.

"He is still under strict observation and will continue to be warded to ensure that he continues to recover.

"The past few days have been quite exhausting for him as he was making the rounds to prepare for the state elections and had to meet many people.

"Please continue to pray for our President," said the aide, refusing to be named.

Abdul Hadi, a heart patient, had a valve surgery at the National Heart Institute in 2017.

Muhammad Khalil also urged the people to pray for Abdul Hadi's longevity and health.

When contacted by Malay language daily Sinar Harian, Muhammad Khalil also said that his father was in a stable condition.

"He has been warded for a few days for observation by healthcare personnel," he said.
