A DOZEN monkeys had a “durian buffet” at the back of a lorry transporting the fruits from Kuala Lumpur back to Bentong, Pahang, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon along the Karak Highway just past the toll plaza when lorry driver Zou Sheng Zhe stopped to have a break.
“I was 10 minutes into a nap when I was woken up by a lorry honking next to mine. I looked into the rearview mirror and saw more than 10 monkeys at the back of my lorry feasting on my durians,” Zou said.
Startled, Zou grabbed his phone and began filming the peculiar sight. He admitted that he was fearful of being attacked and therefore did not try to chase the simians away.
According to Zou, the monkeys only managed to feast on the smaller Musang King durians as the bigger ones were too heavy and they ran away just as Zou started his lorry engine. He added that he would often take a nap along the Karak Highway whenever he was delivering durians to and from the capital.
However, he admitted that this was the first time encountering monkeys stealing his fruits.
> The daily also reported that Hong Kong singer Andy Hui, whose cheating scandal rocked the music scene in 2019, surprised many by appearing as a special guest at his wife Sammi Cheng’s concert on Saturday.
The two appeared on stage together for a performance for the first time since the scandal five years ago.
Some of Cheng’s fans were upset to see Hui and took to social media to voice their complaints.
“It is a waste of my time and money being forced to see a bad person,” one fan wrote.
Despite that, most sympathised with Cheng’s decision to help her husband rebuild his image.
There were other Internet users who said they admired Hui as it took a lot of courage to go on stage with his wife despite knowing that he would garner a lot of hate.
