Johor man nabbed with 3,000 litres of subsidised diesel

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 43-year-old local man has been arrested for allegedly pilfering subsidised diesel.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the suspect was arrested at around 1pm on Monday (July 15) following an inspection of a bonded lorry at a petrol station along Jalan Lima Kedai in Gelang Patah here.

“Checks inside the vehicle found three tanks filled with 3,000 litres of diesel.

"We believe the (case) involves the sale and purchase of subsidised goods without valid permission, and the suspect was transporting the diesel," he said here Tuesday (July 16).

The suspect has no criminal record and the case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961, ACP Kumarasan added.

He urged the public to continue channelling information on criminal activities to the Iskandar Puteri police hotline at 07-5114486, or by contacting the nearest police station.
