A “TURF war” turned physical between two groups of senior citizens in Singapore’s Chinatown, landing a woman in hospital, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The altercation was between a dancing group and a singing group, both of which comprised seniors. It took place at the Garden Link Bridge on July 13.

Local press Shin Min Daily reported that the altercation began when the singing group blared their songs with their loudspeakers in a bid to drown out the dancing group’s music.

What began as a verbal argument turned into a fracas, with witnesses claiming that they saw several people beating a woman.

When contacted, police confirmed that they have arrested four women, aged between 64 and 75 for allegedly using criminal force and voluntarily causing harm to others.

The police also confirmed that a 68-year-old woman was taken to hospital for her injuries.
