Teenager drowns while swimming in Cyberjaya


PETALING JAYA: A 14-year-old boy drowned after going for a swim with four of his friends at Sungai Rasau, Kampung Pulau Meranti in Cyberjaya.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the victim Nik Ahmad Muzakkir Nik Razali was swept away by a strong current while he was swimming at about 4.41pm on Friday (July 19).

"A search and rescue operation was launched soon after the incident. The body of the victim was recovered at about 6.36pm some 30m from where the incident occurred," he said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 20).
