POLICE in India discovered the body of a young woman that was dismembered into 30 pieces and stuffed into a fridge in an apartment after receiving complaints from residents on the stench, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Inhabitants of neighbouring units at the apartment complex, located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, had noticed a foul smell emanating from one of the homes and subsequently contacted police.

Police then made the shocking discovery pertaining to the body in the midst of their search in the apartment.

Police said the remains could have been left a few days ago based on the body’s decomposing state.

The victim’s name was not released.

However, police said she was a young woman from a different state who was working in the city.

The latest incident in Bengaluru, which is considered one of India’s most modern cities known for its rapidly developing high technology and computer industries, has left the state in shock.
