MADRID, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Remco Evenepoel was able to survive another tough day in the mountains to retain the leader's jersey in the Vuelta a Espana on Sunday.

After passing through a crisis and losing time in Saturday's mountain stage, there was no question that Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma) and Enric Mas (Movisar) would look to exploit any possible weakness in the young Belgian rider.
