NOWADAYS, parents are more aware about early childhood education and increasingly involved in their child’s early development. While it is a positive development for the country, there is concern over the unrealistic expectations that some parents impose on their children.
For a long time, society has perceived education as a platform for development of academic learning where the end game is good grades. It still does. Even if there are non-academic subjects in the curriculum, scoring straight As trumps anything else in the eyes of parents, educators and most employers.
