Personal experience in learning Jawi script

MY generation is Jawi illiterate (buta Jawi) because the subject was no longer taught when we started primary school. However, I was fortunate because my mother, Hajjah Kalsom Ali Raja Kemala, took up the task of teaching me Jawi at home.

My father, Haji Yusof Rawa Hj Abdullah Nordeen al Rawi, had a printing and publishing house and a bookstore loaded with buku Jawi in several disciplines, especially Islamic religious books.
