THE government's recent move to exempt nicotine from the Poisons Act has essentially legalised vaping in Malaysia, and enabled the government to collect the much delayed vape taxes.

Despite the lifting of its illegal status, what is alarming is that there is still no specific law that regulates vaping in the country. There are no standards to be met and it's a free-for-all market where the quality and safety of the vaping liquid and devices can vary wildly.
