World-class park can improve

AMONG my travels in 40+ countries, Taman Negara in Pahang stands out as one of the most interesting places to visit. I must congratulate the authorities managing the place, including those who run the hotel there, the only one allowed within the park’s boundaries. I just returned from visiting with friends.

Very few places can compare to the crown jewel of parks in Malaysia. It has activities for everyone, like the irresistible canopy walk, boat ride to Lata Berkoh (my favourite), educational visit to the Orang Asli settlement, or a swim in a river. Bird watching and night walks are popular activities too, together with shooting river rapids and trekking to Bukit Teresek. I must compliment the part-time night guides for the nature walks whose quality has improved since my last visit 15 months ago. The same applies for the Orang Asli settlement guides.
