PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) defender Jordi Amat feels Terengganu forward Adisak Kraisorn (pic) will need to be shackled when the two teams clash in the Super League opener at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri tonight.
The match will also be the Charity Shield clash for both sides.
The Indonesian naturalised player said based on his recent experience in the AFF Mitsubishi Cup last year, he sees Adisak as a highly skilled player and very cunning.
Adisak will feature in the Super League as one of the new signings for Terengganu following a successful campaign for his nation in the AFF Cup last December.
“I also studied Adisak’s game many times through video recordings and he is a good player, so he cannot be allowed to move freely because he can be a big pain for JDT,” said Amat.
The 32-year-old Amat, who has played for Espanyol and Rayo Valleceno in La Liga, hopes to start this season on the right foot.
“We hope to retain the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup for the sixth time in a row tomorrow night in addition to chasing the first three points,” he added.
Assistant head coach for JDT Pablo Richetti said their pre-season preparations have been solid as they played against European clubs in Dubai.
“It’s a big headache for us to choose the starting line-up as we have many quality players.
“The most important thing is they know how to win the match, this is very important.
“We always decide who plays at the last minute. Only Natxo Insa is not able to play but the others are all fit to be fielded against Terengganu.”
