Keeper Damien: Lady Luck had a hand in Sabah’s losses

PETALING JAYA: Sabah goalkeeper Damien Lim can’t help feeling that their two straight losses in the Super League before the international break were simply out of their hands.

The Rhinos were tamed 1-2 by Kedah on June 2, and six days later, they were shocked by Police 0-1.

Damien said that luck had deserted them of late, especially in the game against the Cops.

Sabah had the lion’s share of possession, attempted 14 shots, of which only one was on target, but failed to break down the resilient Cops.

“This is football. You may have the possession and chances, but when luck is not there, the results won’t come your way. For me, I see luck as an important part of the game,” said the 26-year-old.

“During the break, we will work on our sharpness to ensure we do well in the next 12 games in the league.’’

Sabah will resume their league campaign against Kelantan United on June 26.

Sabah are currently fifth in the league with 24 points from 14 games.
