PETALING JAYA: It was the end of the road for Malaysia’s top squash players Ng Eain Yow and S. Sivasangari, who failed to clear their respective semi-final hurdles in the Singapore Open.

Eain Yow failed to get the better of top seed Ali Farag of Egypt, losing 11-13, 11-6, 9-11, 6-11 after battling for 52 minutes.

It is the second straight Singapore Open final appearance for the Egyptian.

Sivasangari also failed to clear her Egyptian hurdle, losing 5-11, 6-11, 12-10, 8-11 to reigning world junior champion Amina Orfi.

It is the second time this month Orfi has defeated the Malaysian player.

Sivasangari lost to her in the Ace Malaysia Cup final earlier this month.
