Following its rollout of free unlimited WiFi on widebody aircraft last year, Malaysia Airlines has announced plans to extend the service to its Boeing 737-8 fleet by the end of this year.

"Last year, the airline was the first and only airline to introduce unlimited complimentary WiFi to all passengers travelling on selected widebody aircraft, regardless of cabin class or loyalty tier.

"Building on this success, the airline will activate the WiFi connectivity on the 737-8 aircraft by the end of 2024, extending the complimentary and unlimited WiFi service to all passengers travelling on the aircraft.

"The airline currently owns a fleet of four 737-8 aircraft," Malaysia Airlines said via a news release posted on its website, though no specific date for when WiFi will be available onboard flights has been shared as of publication time.

The number of Boeing 737-8 aircraft deployed by the airline is expected to expand to 25 by 2026.

Prior to this, WiFi was only available to Business Suite and Business Class passengers, as well as to Enrich Platinum members with a 100MB data cap.
