KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's exports of biodiesel and palm oil improved in September, according to the latest statistics from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
In a statement on Monday, MPOB said exports of biodiesel for September surged by 93.96% to 31,423 tonnes from 16,201 tonnes recorded in the preceding month.
Exports of palm oil improved 4.36% to 1.678 million tonnes compared with 1.608 million tonnes in August, it said.
Meanwhile, imports of crude palm oil (CPO) for September declined 68.68% to 8,274 tonnes compared with August, while palm oil imports increased 15.08% to 75,962 tonnes.
The country's total palm oil stocks in September 2015 increased by 5.46% to 2.63 million tonnes against 2.49 million tonnes recorded in August.
MPOB said CPO stocks for September rose 6.68%t to 1.56 million tonnes against 1.46 million tonnes previously.
Processed palm oil stocks grew 3.74% to 1.07 million tonnes in September, it said.
Total CPO production eased 4.48% to 1.96 million tonnes in September from 2.05 million tonnes previously.
The average price of fresh fruit bunches in September was RM20.48 per tonne, up 2.14% from RM20.05 per tonne previously. - Bernama
