IGP: Dam water release will be announced beforehand

MALACCA: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar advised the public not to believe rumours on the release of water from dams in flooded areas because such a move would be announced beforehand by the relevant authorities and mainstream media.

“It’s alright to keep up with the social media but don’t believe everything you read. Check your facts with an accurate source,” he said after a gathering with general police officers here yesterday.
