Deepavali treat for prisoners


KUALA LUMPUR: The Prisons Department is allowing family members of prisoners, as well as inmates at the reform centres and Henry Gurney School to visit them on Oct 23 and 24 in conjunction with the Deepavali celebrations.

Visiting hours will be from 8.15am to 4.15pm and priority would be given to prisoners and inmates of the Hindu faith, the department said in a statement.
