HONG KONG: US President Donald Trump's threat to strip Hong Kong of its special status in response to incoming national security laws is "not acceptable" under international standards, the territory's pro-Beijing justice chief said on Saturday (May 30).
Addressing reporters, Justice Secretary Teresa Cheng (pic) said that Beijing's bypassing of Hong Kong's internal legal system to impose national security laws did not invalidate the territory's autonomy as claimed by US officials.
