Shallow quake strikes off central Indonesia near Talaud Islands


KUALA LUMPUR: A 5.7 magnitude quake jolted North Sulawesi province in the central part of Indonesia on late Saturday evening, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said on Sunday (May 31).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement said the earthquake occurred 17km east of Talaud Island at a depth of 83 km.
