Voting ends in Singapore's parliamentary elections; 96% turnout

SINGAPORE, July 10 (dpa): Polling stations closed at 10 pm (1400 GMT) on Friday after 14 hours of voting in snap elections held in Singapore, a wealthy city-state that faces a steep recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Electoral officials extended voting time by two hours after anti-virus precautions caused long queues at polling stations.
