Hong Kong govt to reserve funds to procure virus vaccine in late August


HONG KONG (China Daily/ANN): The Hong Kong government will reserve funds to purchase coronavirus vaccine at the end of this month, Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee told a local radio programme on Saturday (Aug 22).

Last Friday, Chan revealed at a press conference that the government has participated in an international vaccine distribution programme – COVAX Global Vaccine Facility – to secure vaccine supplies for about 20 per cent of the city’s 7.5 million residents.
