BANGKOK, Aug 24 (The Nation Thailand/ANN): The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Monday that an active monsoon trough lies across the upper areas of the North and the Northeast, while the southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand.

Heavy rains are likely in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East.
