10 Thai provinces on alert as Covid-19 cases rise in neighbouring Myanmar

BANGKOK, Aug 30 (Xinhua): Thailand's Ministry of Interior on Sunday expressed concerns that several provinces neighbouring Myanmar might be at high risk of contracting Covid-19 cases as the number of infections rises in Myanmar.

"The interior ministry had instructed 10 provinces in close proximity to Myanmar and/or provinces that accommodate Myanmar nationals, to stay alert and tighten scrutiny in controlling patrons coming into Thai soil from Myanmar," said Chatchai Promlert, the ministry's permanent secretary.
