THAILAND’S Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul launched a campaign to promote hemp as a new cash crop.
He said hemp-yielding cannabis plants could be legally cultivated at household and industrial levels nationwide. No longer considered an illegal drug, hemp could be used in medicine, herbal products, health food and as cosmetic components.
