Japanese defence minister expects polls in October

TOKYO (Bloomberg): Japanese Defence Minister Taro Kono said he expects a general election in October, contradicting comments from the man expected to become the next prime minister, who indicated the poll would come later.

Kono, tipped as a future Japanese leader, made the comments Wednesday (Sept 9) in an online forum hosted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
